I have over ten years of experience in Higher Education, during which I ran multiple academic programs where marketing was one of my major responsibilities. Each year, working closely with the marketing department, we designed a new website, restructured the navigation and user friendliness of our site, created marketing materials (brochures, postcards, advertisements, giveaways), wrote and edited copy for the website and marketing pieces, placed advertisements in newspapers, magazines, and on radio, produced videos, and sent mass emails. We used search engine optimization, pay per click marketing, and social media to attract U.S. and international students and their parents to our programs.
These experiences made me love working on websites. As a hobby, I decided to launch a website, called Contented Belly where I could share my thoughts and have fun writing. I then started building websites for friends and from there the idea of Zilz Web Design & Consulting came about. I love the creativity and challenge of creating websites that uniquely reflects the business or person I am working with, as well as figuring out the best way to get their content across and seen.
Additionally, I have a PhD in Biology and have been teaching and advising students at the college level for over ten years. I have also served as a coach to Higher Education Professionals for several years. These experiences have provided me the research and analytical skills to determine the best practices used in your field to drive people to your website. Furthermore, I can listen to your needs and walk you through your options, as well as teach you how to maintain your website and use other marketing mediums.
On the personal side, I live in Cape Cod, MA with my husband, dog, and two cats. For fun I read, do crossword puzzles, cook, and take advantage of the beautiful water views and hiking trails that we are lucky to live next to.
I look forward to working with you. Contact me so we can discuss your new website!
